Children’s Behavioral Health Data and Quality Advisory Body
As part of the DD v. Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) settlement agreement and MDHHS’ commitment to improving behavioral health care for Michigan’s children, youth, and families, the Bureau of Children’s Coordinated Health Policy and Supports (BCCHPS) is launching a Children’s Behavioral Health Data and Quality Advisory Body.
The Advisory Body will, as defined in the settlement, advise MDHHS on:
- Key performance data and quality benchmarks for the Michigan Intensive Child and Adolescent Service (MICAS) array.
- Methods to communicate clearly and transparently to stakeholders through MDHHS’ website.
- Provide feedback on the efforts under this Agreement.
Advisory Body members can expect to participate in quarterly meetings, and membership will be comprised of children, youth and young adults with lived experience in Michigan’s behavioral health system, families of children and youth with behavioral health needs, and partners from the children’s behavioral health system, in addition to representatives from child serving systems across MDHHS. Members with lived experience as children, youth or young adults navigating specialty behavioral health services or families of youth with behavioral health needs will be compensated for their participation.
If you have experience with Michigan's specialty behavioral health system for children and families and would like to request a membership application or request more information about the advisory body, please email: MDHHS-BCCHPS-AdvisoryBody@michigan.gov or apply online here. Representation must be supported and approved by MDHHS.
