Frequently Asked Questions

  • The Child Welfare Medical and Behavioral Health Unit hosts annual trainings for child welfare staff and caseworkers. These events occur regularly in-person with registration available on the Learning Management System (LMS) https://michigan.csod.com/client/michigan/default.aspx

These trainings are recorded and posted to LMS as a virtual course. Due to COVID-19 restrictions regarding public gatherings, virtual opportunities for training will be expanded in the future to include additional courses which are relevant to mental health, physical health, and wellbeing of foster care children.

Please check our Events calendar often on the Health and Mental Health Information and Resources page for upcoming events and training opportunities.

  • Events offered by the Child Welfare Medical and Behavioral Health Unit through virtual courses on the learning Management System (LMS) or at conference venues present an opportunity for CEUs to be obtained. The number of credits offered will be shown in the description within LMS. Conferences and in-person trainings which offer social work credits will contain this information within the event invitation, on the LMS registry description, or on the Events calendar.

If you are attending a conference which offers CEUs, you must complete a form to receive credit. The completed form must be signed and returned to a designated training proctor prior to leaving the event.
