Fetal Development: Week 10
10 weeks after conception (about 2 ½ months)
(12 weeks after the last menstrual period
The fetus is about 2 ½ inches (2.5 inches) long from crown to rump (head to butt) or about the size of a large lime. The fetus weight is 1/3 to 1 ounce. The head is large in size compared to the rest of the body. Swallowing movements begin.
A lime size ranges from 1.18 – 2.36 inches.
