The Family Center for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs (Family Center) is the statewide, parent-directed center within Children’s Special Health Care Services (CSHCS) and the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services (MDHHS). The mission of the Family Center is to support and connect Michigan families of children and youth with special health care needs, provide family-centered leadership throughout Michigan’s health care settings, and partner in the decision-making process within the systems of care for children and youth with special health care needs.
The Family Center is excited to host a Bereavement Parent Mentor Training in Kalamazoo, MI on July 13, 2019. This training is open for parents/caregivers who have had a child with a special health care need, experienced the loss of their child and would like to help other parents that they are looking for support in their journey with grief.
