The Family Center for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs (Family Center) is the statewide, parent-directed center within Children’s Special Health Care Services (CSHCS) and the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services (MDHHS). The mission of the Family Center is to support and connect Michigan families of children and youth with special health care needs, provide family-centered leadership throughout Michigan’s health care settings, and partner in the decision-making process within the systems of care for children and youth with special health care needs.
The Family Center is excited to host a Parent Mentor Training in East Lansing, MI on September 15th, Saginaw County on October 13th and Kent County on November 3rd. We would like to reach parents/caregivers who are experienced and may want to become a Mentor to support other parents. Flyers for these trainings regarding location and sign-up will be sent out 4-6 weeks prior to the date of the event.
