Dear Colleagues:
Children’s Special Health Care Services (CSHCS) and the Family Center for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs (Family Center) are pleased to announce a Parent Support Group scholarship opportunity for the 2017-2018 fiscal year (10/1/17 – 9/30/18). Each Local Health Department (LHD) is eligible to apply for up to $600.00 for their project. Please see the attachment for the application and guidelines.
The objectives of the scholarship include:
· Parent support groups will provide parents of children with special health care needs an opportunity to meet other parents in a neutral and relaxed setting, at a location that is easily accessible.
· Parent support groups will provide parents the opportunity to discuss the common joys, concerns, and unique experiences of raising a child with special health care needs.
· Parent support groups will provide parents with an opportunity to learn how others handle situations commonly experienced by parents of children with special health care needs.
· Parent support groups will provide parents with an opportunity to learn more about their child's special health care needs.
The application deadline is ?September 1?5, 2017. Please note this is a completely fillable PDF application.
