CSHCS INFO 7 2018 - CHASS-NEMT 'Updates Required'

Dear Colleagues,

This INFO impacts the prior authorization status of “Updates Required” in the CHASS-NEMT system.

Please periodically check the status of your prior authorizations in the CHASS-NEMT system. When you see the status of “Updates Required,” click on the notes and read the information describing the action needed. Until the prior authorization is updated, and the status reflects “corrected,” the NEMT invoice from the family will not be approved.

Recently several NEMT invoices received were held because the travel dates or providers didn’t match what the LHD had prior authorized. The status of the authorization has been changed to “Updates Required.” The NEMT invoices are still pending corrections, which delays the reimbursement for NEMT assistance to the family.

Please remind families to contact you when their travel is different from what you authorized. If the family contacts the LHD before they submit the invoice, you can send the family the updated paperwork for submission to speed up the payment process.
