The Family Center for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs (Family Center) is the statewide, parent-directed center within Children’s Special Health Care Services (CSHCS) and the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services (MDHHS). The mission of the Family Center is to support and connect Michigan families of children and youth with special health care needs, provide family-centered leadership throughout Michigan’s health care settings, and partner in the decision making process within the systems of care for children and youth with special health care needs.

The Family Center is excited to host a Bereavement Parent Mentor Training in East Lansing, MI on December 7, 2019.  This training is open for parents/caregivers who have had a child with a special health care need, experienced the loss of their child and would like to help other parents that they are looking for support in their journey with grief.
