 Do we have to return the PIN select and Balance Inquiry devices?

Yes!  After the EBT Conversion the PIN select and Balance Inquiry devices need to be sent back to the State of Michigan.  An email was sent to the WIC Coordinator the week of August 23, 2021, from UPS with an return label to use.  The devices must be returned no later than September 20, 2021. 

What has to be returned with the PIN Select and Balance Inquiry devices? 

All Devices, Electric Cords, Phone Cords.

Can the PIN Select and Balance Inquiry devices be recycled?

No, they must be returned to the State WIC Office by September 20, 2021

How will clients PIN their WIC EBT Cards?

They can use www.ebtEDGE or by calling the IVRU 1-888-678-8914

When is the transition scheduled to happen?

August 27, 2021

      • No appointments are to be scheduled after 4:00 PM
      • Conversions to FIS/CDP begins at 5:00 PM
      • MI-WIC will be unavailable beginning at 5:00 PM

August 28, 2021

      • MI-WIC will be unavailable
      • Clients will NOT be able to shop at ANY STORE using their WIC and/or SNAP Benefits beginning at 11:30 PM 
      • Note:  The State Office will schedule a notification to clients via text blast

      August 29, 2021

          • MI-WIC will be unavailable
          • Clients will NOT be able to shop at ANY STORE using their WIC and/or SNAP Benefits until approximately 9:00 AM   
          • Note:  The State Office will schedule a notification to clients via text blast to notify them when they can shop again

      August 30, 2021

          • Schedule lightly this week
          • MI-WIC will be available at 9:00 AM

      When will the new EBT Cards be mailed?

      They were mailed the last week of July 2021.

      When will the new cardholder brochures be mailed?

      They were mailed the last week of July 2021.

      How will the ordering process work for WIC EBT Cards?

      You will now be submitting orders to the WIC State Office using Survey Monkey on a quarterly basis.  The first time Local Agency's will order additional cards will be March 2022

      Will I still order additional cards the way we currently do? 

      No, New process to use Survey Monkey on a quarterly basis.  The initial order will be enough to get your clinics through the conversion process and then some.

      Will the WIC EBT Cards (with the bridge image) still work after the conversion.

      Yes - but you will still want to replace the cards as the clients come into the office. 

      Will the same pin work on the new cards?

      Yes, the PIN will transfer to the new card.

      Do we have to make special appointments for everyone to come to the clinic to get their new EBT cards?

      No - Issue the new cards as the clients come in for their scheduled appointments.  The card with the bridge on it will continue to work.

      After the EBT Conversion will EPPIC still work?

      Yes for 30 days after the transition for transactions up to August 27, 2021

      Will the IVRU phone # change?

      No - It will still be:  1-888-678-8914

      Will the Helpline phone number or process change?

      No - the phone number and process will remain the same.

      1-800-942-1636 option 1 - 3Sigma currently.  As of August 23, 2021, it will be sent to Kunz, Leigh and Associates.

      How will we receive communications regarding EBT transition?

      When will we get trained on the new EBT system?

      August 2021 - A link to the signup was included in WIC E-Notice #2021 - 165, announcing the link was open.

      If a client needs a card replaced, what should they do?

      They can call the IVRU (phone number is on the back of the WIC EBT Card) 1-888-678-8914 and request a new card or the clinic can issue them a new card.
