The purpose of the Housing Subcommittee is to convene state agencies and non-state partners to identify issues, share best practices and develop solutions related to availability and quality of migrant housing. Priority areas include identifying housing needs and issues related to housing availability and quality, and to ensure that migrant housing is inspected and licensed.
Strategies include:
- Share information regularly to identify housing needs and issues.
- Collaborate among partners and further develop processes to increase efficiency of inspections, and extend inspection activity to off-farm and other housing not currently licensed.
- Collaborate regarding loans, grants, and cooperative agreements to increase quality, availability and use of housing.
