Driving Directions

The State Vital Records office is located at 333 S Grand Avenue in downtown Lansing. Customer Service is located on the 1st Floor of the South Grand Building, located on the Northeast corner of Grand Avenue and Kalamazoo Street.  Customer parking is available on the East side of the building off of Kalamazoo Street. Parking is also available at meters and city parking ramps throughout the downtown area. There is no validation for parking.

FROM GRAND RAPIDS
Take I-96E toward Lansing. Take the I-496E exit for Downtown Lansing and follow I-496E to the Pine/Walnut Street Exit (Exit 6) onto Malcolm X. Follow Malcolm X to Grand Avenue. Turn left onto Grand Avenue and go approximately 4 blocks to the corner of Grand Avenue and Kalamazoo Street.  Turn right onto Kalamazoo Street and the building and customer parking are on the left (north) side of the street.

FROM GRAYLING AND POINTS NORTH
Take I-75S to the US-127S exit toward Clare.  Keep following US-127S to Lansing and take the exit for I-496W for Downtown Lansing (Exit 77). Take I-496W to the Grand Avenue Exit (Exit 7a). Follow the off ramp to Grand Avenue. Turn right onto Grand Avenue and go approximately 3 blocks to Kalamazoo Street. Turn right on Kalamazoo Street and the building and customer parking are on the left (north) side of the street..

FROM FLINT
Take I-69W to US-127S. Follow US-127S to I-496W toward Downtown Lansing. Take I-496W to the Grand Avenue Exit (Exit 7a). Follow the off ramp to Grand Avenue. Turn right onto Grand Avenue and go approximately 3 blocks to Kalamazoo Street. Turn right on Kalamazoo Street and the building and customer parking are on the left (north) side of the street.

FROM DETROIT
Take I-96W to Lansing, merge onto US-127N/I-496W.  Follow to I-496W toward Downtown Lansing and continue to the Grand Avenue Exit (Exit 7a). Follow the off ramp to Grand Avenue. Turn right onto Grand Avenue and go approximately 3 blocks to Kalamazoo Street. Turn right on Kalamazoo Street and the building and customer parking are on the left (north) side of the street.

FROM JACKSON AND POINTS SOUTH
Take US-127N toward Lansing.  At I-96, I-496 will join US-127N. Follow I-496W toward Downtown Lansing and continue to the Grand Avenue Exit (Exit 7a). Follow the off ramp to Grand Avenue. Turn right onto Grand Avenue and go approximately 3 blocks to Kalamazoo Street. Turn right on Kalamazoo Street and the building and customer parking are on the left (north) side of the street.

FROM SOUTHWEST MICHIGAN (Kalamazoo-Benton Harbor-St. Joseph Area)
Take I-94 East, merge onto I-69N (exit 108) toward Lansing.  Follow I-69/I-96 to I-496E (exit 95) toward Downtown Lansing.  Follow I-496E to the Pine/Walnut Street Exit (Exit 6). Follow the off ramp onto Malcolm X and continue to Grand Avenue. Turn left onto Grand Avenue and go approximately 4 blocks to Kalamazoo Street. Turn right on Kalamazoo Street and the building and customer parking are on the left (north) side of the street.
