What is vendoring and does it give me shutoff protection?
A Vendor Payment is a specific amount of money that is deducted from your cash assistance benefit and paid by MDHHS directly to a person or company providing a service other than medical (e.g., shelter, utilities, home repairs) to the client. Vendoring does not give you shut off protection. You are responsible for paying bills that are more than your vendored payments and crisis dollars. Talk to your provider to see what you must do to have service all year.
