Stacie Sampson, Inspector General and Senior Deputy Director
Stacie Sampson is the Inspector General of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS). In this position, she oversees and conducts activities to prevent, detect and investigate fraud, as well as potential waste and abuse in MDHHS programs, and assists the department in maintaining integrity and accountability.
Sampson has been with MDHHS’ Office of the Inspector General (OIG) for nearly 13 years. She started as Assistant to the Inspector General in 2011. From 2016 until her current role began, Sampson served as the Integrity Division Director.
Prior to her work at the department, Sampson was a Corporate Senior Auditor at PepsiCo, Internal Audit Supervisor at the Pepsi Bottling Group and Assistant Auditor General in the state’s Office of the Auditor General.
Sampson holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from the School of Management within the University of Michigan-Flint.
