Terrence M. Beurer, Senior Deputy Director, Economic Stability Administration

Terrence M. Beurer is senior deputy director of Economic Stability Administration for the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.

In this role, he oversees cash assistance and many other support programs offered by field offices throughout Michigan.

Beurer has worked in different areas within state government off and on for 30 years. He worked at the Adrian Training School in various positions from October 1978 to June 1982, and then worked in a substance abuse-related position for a private agency. In May 1985, he began work as a Children's Protective Services (CPS) worker in Lenawee County, becoming CPS supervisor in 1994. He was named director of the Monroe County Department of Human Services office in 2004.

In June 2009, he was appointed director of Urban Field Operations, which evolved into the director of Child Welfare Field Operations in January 2011. He has also supervised Adult Services and Administrative Support.
