Full-time State of Michigan classified employees are entitled to benefits that include health, dental, vision, life, disability, and flexible spending accounts. The state pays for a large portion of insurance premiums for employees and eligible dependents.

Retirement
With Michigan's retirement program employees receive a minimum of 4% state contribution toward their retirement fund. If an employee contributes more, the state will match that percentage, up to 3%. Employees may invest in a tax-deferred investment program. Employees are 100% vested after 4 years.
