MDHHS Child Welfare Unpaid Internship Program (Services Specialist)
We have an internship program designed for students looking to gain academic credit while learning the social work field. This program will help students reach their education and career goals. Upon successful completion of the program, interns may be considered for our full-time Services Specialist positions (CPS/FC) through our approved streamlined hiring process.
Requirements
Students must be currently enrolled in a human services-related degree program with the following majors or areas of study:
Social work Sociology Psychology Forensic psychology Interdisciplinary studies in social science Education Community development Law enforcement Behavioral science Gerontology Special education |
Education of the emotionally disturbed Education of the gifted Family ecology Community services Family studies Family and/or child development Counseling psychology Criminal justice Human services Human services-related counseling major |
OR
Pursuing a bachelor's degree in any major with at least 30 semester (45 term) credits in one or a combination of the above human services areas.
