Michigan Department of Community Health Director, James K. Haveman, Jr., today announced that local health departments and community groups throughout the state will participate in National HIV Testing Day activities this Thursday, June 27, 2002.
"Early detection of HIV is vital in our fight against AIDS,@said Haveman. AWe are proud to have 60 agencies in Michigan participating in National HIV Testing Day and encourage people at risk for HIV to be tested.@ Tests can be done on an anonymous or confidential basis.
