Lyon Named Deputy Director for Health Policy, Regulation and Professions Administration

Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH) Director Janet Olszewski has named Nick Lyon Deputy Director for the Health Policy, Regulation and Professions Administration effective Monday, March 24.
Lyon had been serving in this position in an acting capacity while he continued to serve as Deputy Director of the Operations Administration.
"Mr. Lyon's leadership skills and his 17 years of state government experience will be a tremendous asset for the Health Policy, Regulation and Professions Administration," Olszewski said. "His guidance and knowledge will lead Health Policy down the continued path of serving and protecting our Michigan citizens."
Health Policy, Regulation and Professions Administration oversees the Bureau of Health Policy, Planning and Access; the Bureau of Health Systems; the Bureau of Health Professions; the Office of Legal Affairs; the Office of the Chief Nurse Executive; and the Crime Victims Services Commission.
Prior to joining the department, Lyon served as the Director of the Office of Budget Development and General Government within the State Budget Office. He previously served as the Finance Officer for the Department of Attorney General.
Born and raised in the Lansing-area, Lyon received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Political Science from Yale University. He and his wife, Wendy, reside in Marshall Township with their two children.
