Michigan OSA to Hosts Informational Conference for Aging and Disabled Providers

The Michigan Office of Services to the Aging (OSA) will host a conference Nov. 18 and Nov. 19 that will inform members of the aging services industry how to re-invent themselves during a challenging financial market, an increasing aging population, and an expanding service network for persons with disabilities.

The 2010 conference on "Adapting to Challenges in Hard Times through Resource Development," will be held from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 18 and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 19 at the Older Persons' Commission located at 650 Letica Drive in Rochester.

The conference will feature experts who will discuss innovative ways to increase revenue streams; gain commitment from potential partners; develop better business plans; and establish active boards to include corporate and community leaders.

The $40 conference fee covers all workshops, a continental breakfast, and lunch for both days. Space is limited. Details about the conference, including workshop descriptions and registration forms, are available at http://www.michigan.gov/MiSeniors or call (517) 241-2066. Limited stipends are available for consumers/participants.
