Michigan Department of Human Services to relocate Shiawassee County office
March 25, 2011
OWOSSO - The Shiawassee County Department of Human Services office will be closed on April 1 while employees relocate to another office. DHS services will resume on April 4 at the new location: 1720 E. Main, Suite 1, in Owosso, DHS Shiawassee County Director Susan Fulton said today.
Assistance applications will still be accepted in the outside drop box at the current location: 1975 W. Main in Owosso, Fulton said.
The new office is located within the same building as the Secretary of State office, and closer to community agencies, the county health department and court offices, Fulton said.
"We apologize for any inconvenience this move may have on our clients," Fulton said. "However, we feel this move is positive because it is centrally located, making it easier for our clients to access additional services.
"As always, the Shiawassee County DHS office remains committed to providing quality services to children, adults and families in need."
In case of an emergency, clients may call Livingston County DHS office at 517-548-0268 on April 1 only. The office phone number will remain the same: 989-725-3200 starting again on April 4.
