"The passing of former Senator Van Regenmorter is a loss not only to those who knew him personally, but to the many Michigan residents whose lives have been touched by his commitment to justice. Senator Van Regenmorter voted on countless issues pertaining to justice in our great state, but of those, his most emphatic contribution was the Crime Victim's Rights Act which he wrote and saw through to fruition. Because of him, crime victims in Michigan have a voice. Senator Van Regenmorter will be missed, but his passion will continue to live on and benefit crime victims in Michigan, and for that, we are eternally grateful."
