Local Cancer Prevention and Control RFP Issued by MDHHS

LANSING, Mich. – The Comprehensive Cancer Control Unit within the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) has released a Request For Proposal (RFP) for Cancer Control Community Implementation Projects from 2015-2017. The RFP is for contracts beginning Nov. 1, 2015.
The purpose of the RFP is to increase local cancer prevention and control activities as well as promote breast, cervical, colorectal, and lung cancer screening. By working with local community organizations and using proven strategies, strides can be made to reduce cancer morbidity and mortality and improve cancer survivorship. Components of the RFP include comprehensive cancer control, colorectal cancer control, and breast and cervical cancer control. Eligible applicants are allowed to apply for funding in more than one component. However, each applicant may only submit one application per component.
Eligible applicants include Michigan-based organizations serving Michigan residents. This may include, but is not limited to: public health departments, health systems, and community-based organizations.

Notice of Intent to Apply is requested, but not required, by Tuesday, June 30, 2015. RFP proposals will be due on Friday, July 31, 2015 by noon. Grantees will be notified by September 18, 2015.
