Michigan Healthy Community Zones Initiative
The Healthy Community Zones (HCZ) Initiative is coordinated by the Physical Activity and Nutrition Unit within the MDHHS Cardiovascular Health, Nutrition and Physical Activity Section.
The initiative emphasizes community-led efforts to identify and change policies and environments that act as barriers to making healthy choices, repair the effects of policies, practices and systemic racism leading to health disparities and inequities, and build communities that support optimal and equitable health and well-being.
