Michigan Cancer Dashboard: Female Breast Cancer in Michigan

The Michigan Cancer Epidemiology staff has developed this interactive dashboard to provide information about the female breast cancer burden across Michigan, as well as timely detection of female breast cancers and female breast cancer screening rates. Data are displayed in charts, tables and/or maps and cover the years 2011 through 2022. The data within this dashboard are divided into five main sections:

  • Female breast cancer incidence within Michigan (the rate of newly diagnosed female breast cancers within Michigan), including all-stage incidence, invasive incidence, and late stage incidence;
  • Female breast cancer mortality rate within Michigan (the rate of female deaths within Michigan due to breast cancer);
  • Female breast cancer screening rates within Michigan (the percentage of Michigan women who are receiving risk-appropriate breast cancer screenings [mammograms]) ;
  • Early detection of female breast cancer within Michigan (the stage at which female breast cancers are being diagnosed within Michigan, indicating how advanced female breast cancers are when first diagnosed); and
  • Molecular subtype of female breast cancers detected within Michigan, which provides information on how aggressive a female breast cancer is and what treatment options are available.

In addition, this dashboard also provides a discussion of the data used for these indicators, as well as general information about breast cancer and links to additional resources for those who would like to know more about this type of cancer.
