Participate in NDEAM: Resources for Employers, Employees, and Families
NDEAM is a great time to publish content for an employee newsletter or internal website. Articles could address a range of topics, such as general information about the company's commitment to an inclusive workplace, the process for requesting reasonable accommodations, or perhaps recognizing the contributions of employees with disabilities in the workplace.
You can also help spread the word about NDEAM throughout October on social media using the hashtag: #NDEAM.
Here are some additional ways you can participate in NDEAM:
Disability Mentoring Day (October 18, 2023)
Disability Mentoring Day promotes career development for youth with disabilities through hands-on programs, job shadowing and ongoing mentoring. The nationwide observance is the third Wednesday of each October, but policymakers may choose to host their events on any day of the month (or year for that matter).
31 Days of NDEAM
The Office of Disability Employment Policy within the U.S. Department of Labor has created a way for employers and employees with disabilities to celebrate NDEAM throughout the entire month of October. Click here to view all 31 Days of NDEAM and be sure to participate all month long!
