CSHCS INFO #26-2017 - SAVE THE DATE - 2017 Parent Mentor Trainings
Tue 9/19/2017 8:45 AM
The Family Center for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs (Family Center) is the statewide, parent-directed center within Children’s Special Health Care Services (CSHCS) and the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services (MDHHS). The mission of the Family Center is to support and connect Michigan families of children and youth with special health care needs, provide family-centered leadership throughout Michigan’s health care settings, and partner in the decision making process within the systems of care for children and youth with special health care needs.
The Family Center is excited to host a Parent Mentor Training in Alpena, MI on September 23rd, Saginaw County on October 28th and Ingham County on November 18th. We would like to reach parents/caregivers who are experienced and may want to become a Mentor to support other parents. Flyers for these trainings regarding location and sign-up will be sent out 4-6 weeks prior to the date of the event.
Please contact Aleisha Leavitt by phone or email (Leavitta1@michigan.gov) with any questions.
