Region 5
The nine southwestern counties that make up Region 5 are: Allegan, Barry, Van Buren, Kalamazoo, Calhoun, Berrien, Cass, St. Joseph and Branch. These counties are a mix of mostly smaller and rural farming communities and three urban areas: Kalamazoo, Battle Creek and St. Joseph. The region has 16 hospitals, 9 Medical Control Authorities, 19 EMS agencies and 7 Health Departments.
