Nate Conley, Acting Human Resources Director
Nate Conley is the acting human resources director of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), overseeing all HR functions, including labor relations, classifications and selections, specialized hiring and recruitment, and compensation, payroll and transactions for the department’s workforce.
Most recently he served as the labor relations manager in MDHHS human resources, overseeing labor relations activities across county offices and central office programs. Conley has 18 years’ experience in various human resources roles within state government. He joined MDHHS in 2018 as the payroll and transactions manager, and became labor relations manager in 2021. He previously held human resources positions with the Michigan Department of State Police, Michigan Economic Development Corporation and the Michigan Department of Transportation in the areas of classification and selections, payroll, HR transactions and disability management.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in human resources from the Michigan State University College of Social Science.
