MDHHS Statement
February 16, 2016
For Immediate Release: February 16, 2016
LANSING, Mich. – Please see the following statement from Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Chief Deputy Director Tim Becker:
“Over the weekend, Director Nick Lyon had an accident at Boyne Mountain while spending time with his family, and is currently in the hospital awaiting shoulder surgery later this week. He is doing well and we expect him back within the coming weeks once he has had time to heal and recover. Director Lyon had driven to Boyne Friday evening to meet his family and was injured on Saturday.
“Until his return, I will be working closely with our leadership team to lead all department matters, including this week’s budget presentations. I have been actively involved in all department priorities, particularly our department efforts in Flint, so there will be continuity in all focus areas. Please join us in wishing Director Lyon a quick and healthy recovery.”
