MDHHS issues Request for Proposal to provide services to homeless

LANSING, Mich. – The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) Housing and Homeless Services Section has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) to provide services to homeless individuals. Funding is available to applicants under the Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness (PATH) initiative.
The goal of PATH is to reduce or eliminate homelessness for individuals with serious mental illness or co-occurring serious mental illness and substance use disorder. PATH funds are used to provide services including engagement and outreach, case management and housing.
Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations and local public entities. Applications are being accepted for Prosperity Regions 4 – 10 to address needs of homeless individuals in these communities. Funding priorities include reengagement and outreach services, specifically for those living on the street, and case management.
Grants starting at $100,000 are available for organizations to provide these services. Funds to support these grants are awarded to the MDHHS by the federal U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. The PATH initiative project period is Oct. 1, 2018 – Sept. 30, 2019.
Grant applications must be submitted electronically through the MI E-Grants program.
