LANSING, Mich. – The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) has issued a competitive Grant Funding Opportunity (GFO) to expand recovery services for individuals seeking long-term recovery from substance use disorders.
Eligible applicants must meet the definition of a Recovery Community Organization (RCO) or a Recovery Community Center (RCC). RCOs are independent, nonprofit organizations led and governed by representatives of with lived experience and supporters that organize recovery-focused policy advocacy activities, carry out recovery-focused community education and outreach programs and provide peer-based recovery support services. RCCs are located within the heart of communities and provide recovery coaching, relapse prevention skills-building, employment and job training linkages, recreational activities and other support services for people in or seeking recovery.
The program period begins Dec. 1, 2026, and ends Sept. 30, 2027. A total of $1.2 million is available with a maximum award of $150,000. MDHHS anticipates issuing up to eight awards.
Grant applications for the Recovery Support Services Competitive GFO must be submitted electronically through the EGrAMS program by 3 p.m., Friday, Oct. 9.
A pre-application conference will be held to discuss this funding opportunity and provide instructions on using the EGrAMS system at 10 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 17. It will last approximately 90 minutes and can be accessed at https://bit.ly/4hRXRVS. Interested applicants are strongly encouraged to attend the conference.
