What We Learned from Our 2022 Client Focus Groups
The Michigan Tobacco Use Reduction in People Living with HIV Project held three virtual focus groups during July and August 2022 with people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) who use tobacco products, generating 17 responses from seven aids service organizations across the state. The qualitative data on tobacco use behavior gathered during the focus groups is being used to help inform best practices to increase quit attempts among PLWHA.
Lessons Learned from Progressive Surveys of Project Staff and Clients and from Client Focus Groups

This November 2019 Precontemplation Workshop with Michigan-based tobacco use reduction in PLWH professionals was presented by the MDHHS Tobacco Section and facilitated by Lilianna Angel Reyes, MPA, TTS. Reyes is director of the Ruth Ellis Center in Detroit and founder and executive director of the Trans Sisters of Color Project, a Detroit nonprofit that serves trans women of color in, or from, the city of Detroit.
