Pregnancy

Commercial tobacco use during pregnancy can lead to pregnancy complications, low birth weight, and possible long-term health effects for the child, such as asthma.

The MDHHS Tobacco Control program is dedicated to working with national, state, and community-based organizations to gather information on commercial tobacco use among Michigan women of all populations who are pregnant to help make appropriate tobacco services that meet the needs of these women.

If you are interested in participating in future collaborative efforts to reduce commercial tobacco use among women of all populations who are pregnant in Michigan, please contact us at 517-335-8376.
