Welcome to our online Tobacco Resource Library, which offers information about tobacco control, cessation and prevention resources, both within our website and beyond our pages. You'll also find resources that can be used when talking with decision makers about various tobacco policy issues.

Communities can use these resources to educate decision makers about the toll of tobacco on Michigan communities and policy solutions to help Michiganders live healthy lives free from the harms of tobacco.

The Tobacco Section has created tobacco policy workshop toolkits to make it easy to train groups of youth or adults on how to educate stakeholders about good tobacco policy. There are toolkits on tobacco retailer licensing, tobacco-free parks and beaches, flavored and menthol tobacco products, tobacco prevention and control funding, and including e-cigarettes in clean air policies.

(1:00:43) This August 2019 webinar from the MDHHS Tobacco Section reviews the results of the first commercial tobacco use assessment study of Michigan's lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community, including community members' use of e-cigarettes. (1:27:46) In this May 2022 MDHHS webinar, MDHHS Public Health Consultant Carolyn Chaudhary, MPH, discusses the basics of e-cigarettes and presents information about how they work, what they look like, what safety and health risks they pose, and what makes them especially attractive to youth. She also looks at the e-cigarette "climate" in Michigan and provides resources for those who want to learn more about these products.
