Youth Employment Ambassador Host (YEAH) Program
Overview
Youth Employment Ambassador Hosts (YEAH) are young people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Youth Employment Ambassadors educate other youth with disabilities about the advantages of inclusive, integrated employment.
The deadline to apply is Friday, August 4, 2023.
What is a Youth Employment Ambassador?
Youth Employment Ambassadors are an important part of educating other youth with disabilities about the advantages of inclusive, integrated employment. Youth Employment Ambassador Hosts are young people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). They are messengers to help people with I/DD be aware of all their options when it comes to employment. They will work to give factual information to their peers about career exploration, pre-employment skill building, employment options, and managing benefits and work.
How do I know if I am a good candidate?
- Do you live in Michigan?
- Are you between the ages of 14-20?
- Do you identify as a person with an intellectual or developmental disability (I/DD)?
- Do you want to lead the movement to help people with disabilities find competitive, integrated employment?
If you answered “yes” to all of these questions, you are a good candidate!
