Community Reinvestment
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) in collaboration with Michigan's Medicaid Health Plans (MHPs), advancing community health through the Comprehensive Health Care Program (CHCP) and its new annual community reinvestment program. Under this program, MHPs are required to spend a portion of their annual profits on addressing health inequities and the social determinants of health within the communities they serve. In the first year of the program, MDHHS has prioritized housing and food security for investments through this program, and mandates community participation to guide investments for maximum impact.
