Training Module - Identification of Dermatophytes
This self-paced training tool will review the colony and microscopic morphology of nine fungi commonly isolated from human clinical specimens. Photomicrographs and key characteristics for differentiation of these nine dermatophytes are included, along with six photomicrographic unknowns to test your knowledge. This tool is also suitable for use as a competency assessment exercise.
It was designed and produced by the Mycology Unit at Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), Bureau of Laboratories, Lansing, MI. Users may use the photographs for educational purposes. We would ask that credit be given to MDHHS if the photographs are used in presentations.
Currently, this training module is available only as a PowerPoint file. It will be soon available in an HTML web based format. If you can not access the PowerPoint file, please check back at a later date.
