Mental Health Promotion and Wellness
Do your part to promote mental health and wellness.
Our mental health affects every part of our lives, including our physical health. When mental health is compromised, it can be difficult to focus, relate to others, motivate ourselves, and enjoy our lives. Mental health issues can also lead to substance misuse, and in turn, substance misuse can also affect mental health.
Mental health problems are on the rise among youth. According to the Michigan Youth Risk Behavior Survey, over 40% of Michigan high school students reported experiencing depressive feeling in the past year and 9% reported having attempted suicide at least once in the past year.
