Request for Public Comment: Public Comment Period Open for Michigan State Plan on Aging for Fiscal Years 2027-2029

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services-Health Services, Bureau of Aging, Community Living, and Supports (ACLS Bureau), has conducted a comprehensive needs assessment and engaged Area Agencies on Aging, Older Americans Act Title VI Tribal Elder Service grantees, and other community partners in the development of a proposed State Plan on Aging for Fiscal Years 2027-2029. The plan provides goals and objectives for assisting older residents, their families, and caregivers in living healthy, independent lives. Upon approval from the Michigan Commission on Services to the Aging and the federal Administration for Community Living, the plan would go into effect October 1, 2026.

Public comment period is open from April 22, 2026, to May 21, 2026. Please submit comments via email to Tammy Lemmer at LemmerT1@michigan.gov.
