MDHHS Pursues Disciplinary Action for Group Child Care Home License in Eaton County
July 01, 2014
On June 20, the Michigan Department of Human Services (MDHHS), Bureau of Children and Adult Licensing (BCAL), issued an order of summary suspension and notice of intent to revoke the license of Eaton County group child care home provider Tina Hause, #DG230081894, 1781 S. Michigan Road, Eaton Rapids.
This action resulted from a recent investigation of a complaint of the group child care home.
The order of summary suspension and notice of intent to revoke alleges that. Hause committed violations of the Child Care Organizations Act and administrative rules regarding the appropriate care and supervision of children.
On June 24, Ingham County Circuit Court Judge Clinton Canady III issued a temporary restraining order enjoining MDHHS from enforcing the summary suspension order against Hause's license. The temporary restraining order was the result of an ex-parte motion filed by Hause's attorney, David A. Kallman. A hearing regarding this order is scheduled for July 3 in Ingham County Circuit Court.
This matter is also scheduled for a hearing with the Michigan Administrative Hearing System on July 8.
Hause has held a license to operate a group child care home at her current address since July 27, 1998. The capacity of her child care license is 12 children.
