DRAFT FY 2024-2025 Substance Abuse and Mental Health Block Grant Application
INVITATION FOR PUBLIC REVIEW AND COMMENT
The Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities Administration is in the process of applying to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration for continued federal funding through a combined Substance Abuse and Mental Health Block Grant (SABG / MHBG). In compliance with Federal Regulation, CFR Title 45, the public is invited to review and comment on our application.
A combination of federal, state, and local funds is used to support behavioral health services in communities throughout Michigan. The majority of these funds are provided to regional Prepaid Inpatient Health Plans/Community Mental Health Services Programs for services that they purchase throughout their regions, which cover all of Michigan. In order for Michigan to obtain SABG / MHBG funding, each year we must submit an application that details the manner in which we intend to use those funds to support substance abuse related prevention, treatment, and recovery services as well as services for adults with serious mental illness and children with serious emotional disturbance.
Please submit comments, suggestions, or questions to us via e-mail, middletonw@michigan.gov.
