Committees provide a forum for the development of sound policy for the Council. They provide a structure for educating policymakers, department directors, and legislators on legislation, rules, and policy that affect the lives of people with developmental disabilities. Committees use the products of the workgroups to develop policy for the Council. Committees identify and implement strategies that set priorities for the Council. 



Executive Committee

Committee Mission

The Executive Committee directs the policy of the Council and implementation of the Five-Year StrategicPlan. It acts on behalf of the Council between meetings. All actions of the Executive Committee are to be reported to the Council at its next meeting and may be altered or rescinded by a vote of the Council. Coordination, implementation, and oversight responsibilities are carried out by the Executive Committee. 

Committee Membership

The Executive Committee consists of the chairperson, vice-chairperson, Council of RICC Chairs (CRC) chairperson, chairpersons of standing committees, and a maximum of two other members of the Council appointed by the chairperson. A majority of the Executive Committee are individuals with disabilities and immediate relatives or guardians of persons with developmental disabilities. 

PROGRAM COMMITTEE: Oversees the grants program’s carrying out and evaluating the grants included in the Council’s 5-Year Strategic Plan.

PUBLIC POLICY COMMITTEE:   Advocates for public policy that is responsive to the needs of people with disabilities and supports the (RICCs) in developing focused public policy advocacy.
