MDHHS Chief Deputy Director leaving for new position with Hope Network

LANSING, Mich. – The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services today announced that Chief Deputy Director Tim Becker is leaving the department for a new position with Hope Network.
Becker’s last day with MDHHS will be July 8, after which he will begin with Hope Network as executive vice president. MDHHS will name a new chief deputy director in the coming weeks.
“I want to personally thank Tim on behalf of the department and the people of Michigan for his commitment to promoting health and wellness across the state,” said Nick Lyon, director of MDHHS. “Tim has been a dedicated public servant and member of our leadership team at MDHHS, helping spearhead many of our transformation initiatives including the Healthy Michigan Plan. We congratulate him and his family on the next step of his career.”
Prior to his role with MDHHS, Becker previously served as chief deputy director for the Michigan Department of Community Health and as the senior deputy director for the Operations Administration. During his tenure at MDCH, Becker played an integral role in leading the department’s budget, technology, innovation, and strategic planning.
Becker has 23 years of professional experience in finance and administration in both the private and public sectors, including 20 years with the State of Michigan. He is past president of the Fowler Public Schools Board of Education, where he was elected to three terms.
