MDHHS issues RFP for 2017 Health Innovation Grants
August 04, 2016
For Immediate Release: August 4, 2016
LANSING, Mich. – The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) recently released a Request for Proposal (RFP) for organizations interested in applying for Health Innovation Grants. The funds will support one-time projects up to $35,000 to improve the delivery of health services in Michigan.
Funding will support approximately 30 projects to help bridge the gap between innovative ideas and their implementation. Through these grants, MDHHS is encouraging innovative advances in health care to benefit residents through more effective delivery of health services in the state.
This is the fourth year Michigan has awarded Health Innovation Grants to satisfy unmet needs in healthcare delivery and promote collaboration between the public and private sectors. Last year, 46 projects were funded for a total of $1.45 million. Previous awardees that have completed their projects can apply for funding of replication projects resulting from completed 2016 initiatives.
Applicants may be public, non-profit, and private organizations. MDHHS is looking for projects that have clearly defined outcomes and have the potential to be replicated. Organizations are encouraged to include matching funds in their proposal in support of their intended projects.
Questions from applicants are due by August 23, and all applications are due September 1. Questions regarding the RFP should be sent in writing to the email address listed in the application.
