Methods: The estimated number of adults with diagnosed diabetes was calculated by multiplying the prevalence of adult diagnosed diabetes from the 2008-2010 Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (MI BRFSS) and Michigan's adult population from 2010 Census data (www.census.gov).The estimate was rounded to the nearest 100.

Methods: The estimated number of adults with undiagnosed diabetes was calculated using the estimated number of adults with diagnosed diabetes and applying the published ratio that 34.2% of all adult diabetes cases are undiagnosed from the 2005-2006 National Health Examination and Nutrition Survey (NHANES) (Diabetes Care 32: 287-294, 2009). The estimate was rounded to the nearest 100.
