The Division of Toxicology and Response within MDHHS's Environmental Health Bureau conducts public health assessments and consultations at sites of environmental contamination. The health assessor determines what, if any, threat to human health a site may pose and makes recommendations that are protective of public health. This work is funded by the federal Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry and/or the State of Michigan.
