Manistique River
Manistique River Area of Concern (AOC)
The Manistique River AOC is located in Schoolcraft County in Michigan's central Upper Peninsula and discharges into Lake Michigan at the City of Manistique. Historical impacts to the Manistique River are associated with waste containing polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) from a paper recycling facility, sawmills, combined sewer overflows and a municipal wastewater treatment plant.
