Infant Safe Sleep Online Courses - Instructions to Access a Course

At the login screen, enter your User ID and password and click Go. First time users will need to click the Create New User button. On the Select an Organization screen, select Public and leave the Access Code field blank. Click continue and complete the Create New User screen. Once logged in, locate the course you want to take and click the Launch Course icon to the left of the course name.

The available online courses are:

1.5 Nursing contact hours and 1.5 Social Work clock hours are awarded for successful completion of this training. The purpose of this course is to educate health care providers and other professionals about sleep-related infant deaths and how to prevent them. This course is designed for any individual who works with families that have or are expecting infants, such as nurses, social workers, health educators, home visitors, and child welfare workers.

Nursing contact hours, 1.0 Social Work clock hours, and 1.0 Health Educator contact hours are awarded for successful completion of this training. The purpose of this course is to educate professionals on how to address the potential challenges that parents and caregivers have with following the safe sleep guidelines and to educate them on techniques for having effective, open and non-judgmental conversations with parents and caregivers around this issue.  Note: Anyone taking this training needs to be knowledgeable of the American Academy of Pediatrics recommendations for a safe infant sleeping environment.

1.0 clock hour of training is awarded for successful completion of this training. This course is for child care providers. This course meets the infant safe sleep training requirements for child care licensing.
