Vaccine Information Statements (VISs) are documents produced by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in consultation with panels of experts and parents, to properly inform vaccinees (or their parents/legal representatives) about the risks and benefits of each vaccine. Federal law requires that VISs be handed out before certain vaccine doses are given. The VISs are also available from your health care provider.
