MDCH Requesting Proposals to Award $2 Million in HIV Prevention Funding

LANSING - The Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH) will be distributing $2 million in HIV Prevention Services funding through a competitive Request for Proposal (RFP) process.
Through MDCH's HIV/AIDS Prevention and Intervention Section, Division of Health, Wellness and Disease Control is issuing this RFP to support a range of prevention services that will address health disparities among racial/ethnic and sexual minorities. The goal of this funding is to provide services that will have the greatest impact on reducing HIV transmission in Michigan. Funds will be awarded to programs that aim to implement highly targeted, evidence-based and culturally competent interventions.
The RFP is available on the MDCH website at http://www.michigan.gov/mdch/0,4612,7-132-2946_43858-283847--,00.html. Agencies submitting proposals in response to this RFP must indicate their intent to apply, using the required Intent to Apply form, no later than Monday, Aug. 13. The Intent to Apply form is included in the RFP. Proposals will not be accepted from agencies which do not submit a completed Intent to Apply form. Final proposals are due Wednesday, Sept. 5.
A Technical Assistance Conference for prospective applicants will take place at 10 a.m. Aug. 10 via conference call and in-person at the Livingston County Health Department located at 2300 E. Grand River in Howell. Information about calling in to the Technical Assistance Conference is available in the RFP.
